internet friend: someone you meet online over common interests, and begin a relationship despite being states or even countries away


Internet friends are something I tend to have a lot of. In fact, the number of internet friends I have outnumbers the real life friends I have. There is just something special about having internet friends to me. I don't really know why I tend to draw to people online rather than people in real life. Maybe it is the fact that you don't really have to go out and make plans with them. Or the excitement of getting to meet them one day. Whatever it is, it just makes me feel happy. 

One thing I like about having internet friends is that you can just sit on your laptop and talk. You don't have to plan to go out to Taco Bell, or have to buy tickets to see a movie with them. You can just text them over Skype, or Instagram. Plus, it takes away the anxiety of 'do I look ok?' or 'was that dumb to say?' Instead, you can bond with people through texts. 



I feel like people are more comfortable chatting through social media. You can easily find people with common interests with a simple search of a hashtag, or joining an online community. It is also so much easier to be yourself. You can say you like something that you are scared to tell people in real life. It gives the lgbtq+ community a safe place, and even people who just need to find someone who shares an interest that no one they know likes. The internet can be scary sometimes, yes. But if you find the right people, you will be able to feel acceptance and love. 


When you meet someone online it's easy to talk to that person. I tend to prefer chatting over a text than calling, so all I have to do is just send a simple text. It doesn't even have to say "hello." It could be the most random text that person has ever received. It also isn't such a bad thing to be clingy. Many people online are clingy to their internet friends. It makes me feel special to look at my phone and just have texts from my online friends. Whether they are just saying hi, sending me memes, or even just sending appreciation, it never ceases to make me feel loved. 


Internet friends can be some of the best people you might ever meet. And the feeling you get when you see them in real life for the first time is unreal. After meeting three of my online friends, I can assure you that those will be some of the happiest moments of your life. You end up never wanting to leave them. 


In conclusion, internet friends are absolutely amazing. I am so glad to have the ones that I do, and I hope to make many more in the future.

introduction: the act of introducing or the state of being introduced   Greetings and salutations. My name is Lauryn and I am the one who has seemingly created this blog. Summer

Why, hello! As you can probably tell, I did drop this blog for quite some time. I had made it around the time of school, specifically around exams. It was a very stressful time for me, and since then I have had a busy summer. I had forgotten about this blog for a while up until now, when I actually have some free time to write! So, here I am, writing a blog post about my summer so far - and what I have planned yet. The first part of my summer was very eventful. I went to my friend's house for a week, and we went to pride together! After that week, she had come back to my house. That was another fun week full of kayaking, swimming, and watching stupid television shows that make us laugh. Two weeks with your best friend is tiring, but super fun! After those two weeks I just stayed around the house and relaxed.
